A cottage at the foot of Melon Hill in Swanbourne is used by the Friends of Allen Park Bushland Group as a base. Its address in days gone by was 118 Wood Street.

The first known resident of the cottage is Lees Wilkinson. The Commonwealth Electoral Roll for 1929 show Lees Wilkinson (3 March 1894 - 17 November 1972) living at 118 Wood Street, his wife Dorothy Annie (14 September 1899 - ?) was shown at 18 Wood Street which was probably an error because the 1931 Electoral Roll shows them living together at 110 Wood Street. Lees was a fitter. A death notice in the The Sydney Morning Herald of 22 November 1972 shows Lees died on 17 November 1972 and that Annie and Lees had two children, Roy and Millicent.
